These lady garage punkers are now onto their fourth full length album. ‘Suck My Shirt’ released on Suicide Squeeze Records is a brash but intelligent collection of riot grrrl noise, the riffs are simple but effective and the art rock style vocals give it more of a post punk vibe than out and out garage nonsense.
Tracks like ‘Shut Up’ and ‘Merry Go Round’ could’ve been released 30 odd years ago with a scratchy urgent sound of the late 70’s-early 80’s, also featured here are a number of tracks re-worked from a limited run of split 7”’s including the aforementioned ‘Merry Go Round’.
The Coathangers are certainly not your usual moronic girl punk band, these songs have real drive and a melodic pop sound often missed in this genre of music, you’d be mad to miss out on this limited run on translucent lemon and lime vinyl. Nice!
